Valentines are lovers who will stay
As roots and branches start to intertwine,
Letting go the grip of yours and mine,
Entangled with their lovers, come what may.
Nor would a valentine let love decay,
The love that is supposed to conquer time,
Intended as a wonder and a sign,
Not least of the eternal in each day.
Each valentine comes brimming with consent,
'Mid days of doubt one bit of certainty
So sweet one feels like dancing on the air.
Days come and go like tides, with no intent,
As Earth and Moon constrain a restless sea.
Yet when we turn, true valentines are there.
