THE SEASONS Spring comes laughing down the mountainside,
Bursts out into colors, full of joy,
Astounded once again to be alive,
To dance at will through sweet green fields once more. Summer settles into long, slow days,
Relishing each empty, timeless hour,
Rich with golden sunlight, blessed with shade,
So perfect, one is free of all desire. Autumn has abundant energy.
There is much to do and little time,
But just enough to paint a bit of beauty
Across the shimmering leaves before they die. Winter wills the weary world to sleep,
Invoking winds that howl like hungry wolves,
Whistling down the drifts till all is still.
The white world waits to be wakened by a kiss.
