There are those who prey on discontent,
Having made a business of addiction,
And profit from a questionable consent.
Nor do they care they're feeding an affliction,
Knowingly inflaming a desire
So destructive to so many lives,
Giving it the fuel it may require
In order to make sure that it survives.
Very likely on Thanksgiving day,
Inspired by the abundance on display,
No doubt genuinely they pray,
Grateful for the gifts God sends their way.
