Holidays Are Handed Down

A poem about how holidays are preserved:
Holidays are handed down,
Are gifts from old to young,
Pieces of a legacy
Part played, part danced, part sung.
Years and generations pass,
Holidays remain,
Organized each time anew,
Links upon a chain.
In every generation those
Determined to pass on
A thing of beauty they have known,
Yearning for the seeds they’ve sown,
Sing till they are gone.
